Therapists

Dominika Rzewuska-Owsińska
Psychologist and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist, working with adults.
I graduated in Psychology from the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw. I am currently completing a four-year cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy program at the CBT Center, recommended and accredited by the Polish Society for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy.
I have gained professional experience through internships in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Psychotherapy and Group Analysis Center “Archetypy,” as a consultant for the Niebieska Linia Crisis Hotline at the Institute of Health Psychology, and as a psychotherapist in private therapy centers. I also have experience working in the business environment, in international teams, and handling HR-related tasks, which helps me better understand individuals working in corporate settings.
In my therapeutic work, I primarily use a cognitive-behavioral approach, but I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and schema therapy. I incorporate mindfulness training techniques as well. Therapy with me involves a lot of conversation and very few awkward silences.
The first few sessions are dedicated to gathering a detailed history to understand the client’s difficulties and expectations. During this time, a conceptualization model is developed, helping to understand the client’s current situation in the context of past experiences and personal conditions.
Throughout therapy, and in agreement with the client, I may suggest personal tasks to work on between sessions. Therapy can conclude when the client feels they have achieved the changes they were aiming for and their level of functioning in daily life has improved.
In every therapeutic process, building a strong relationship with the client—based on understanding, trust, and a sense of safety—is my top priority, as it enables effective work. In the cognitive-behavioral approach, I value a collaborative partnership with clients, who are treated as co-authors of the therapeutic process. I appreciate clear communication and jointly setting goals.
This approach provides valuable methods for working with thoughts, techniques for emotional regulation, and proven strategies for coping with various issues, such as anxiety disorders, depression, or social phobia. It emphasizes working in the “here and now,” connecting therapy to the client’s life outside sessions, and implementing changes that the client wishes to achieve.
I work with individuals experiencing emotional crises, low mood, anxiety, relationship difficulties, challenges in professional life, and burnout. I also support clients with low self-esteem, personality disorders, past traumas, eating disorders, and anxiety disorders. I am happy to provide support to LGBT+ individuals.
Clients appreciate my collaborative approach, in which they are treated as co-authors of the therapeutic process, for clear communication and jointly setting therapeutic goals, as well as for the valuable methods I use to work with thoughts, regulate emotions, and apply proven strategies for coping with challenges.
Take care of your mental health!
